Just an update on some of the issues which now seem to be causing a great deal of apprehension among our members.
Firstly, as all the older members already know, the website of our organization has changed from the WCNA.NING site to our very own WCNA site which is proving to be not as user friendly as we at first thought it would be!!
We were plagued by hassles, which are now becoming problems, from day one, people with strange names were being placed on the site without photographs, members would find themselves deleted from the site, which then required members to reregister and access to the events was also becoming difficult!
The website could not keep up with all our requirements, so, especially now with a queue of new members awaiting approval, we were compelled to start thinking about a speedy and methodical change to our existing website OR think of an alternative website!!
Deon Visagie and JP. Du Toit, who both have friends in the website designing trade, have volunteered to look into the possibility of a new website.
At the meeting on 16 Nov, the Committee discussed our requirements in detail and will convene shortly when Deon and JP will hopefully provide us with a positive feedback.
Members will now be divided into 5 panels, 1 for each Committee member who will be responsible for keeping his / her panel members up to date on all the latest news of our website and also meeting new members.
The WCNA Committee convenes on the 1st Tuesday after the 10th of each month and our general members meetings are held on a quarterly basis.
The Committee decided to have our 1st quarterly members meeting on 16 Nov, 2010 to enlighten members on all our website problems as well as our future planning strategy, however, apart from the Committee members, only 5 members attended.
Regarding the annual membership fees, 13 Members have paid as on 16 November, 2010
Please be patient, it is now only 3 months (almost!!!) since our founding AGM on 04 September, 2010, NOT 3 years, we are a young organization, now is the time for us all to hold hands and together we can brave the waves that are pounding WCNA!
